Pupils took part in a poetry competition at St Benedict’s. They represented our school really well and made the teachers and their parents very proud.
The ‘Reach4’ team from The Briars lead us in a day of prayer and Mass at Moorways. There were year six children there from all over the Diocese and we spent the day thinking about moving on to secondary school. We brought up the gifts at the offertory and performed actions to the hymn.
Cycle Derby brought a range of bikes for us to try. Some were easier to master than others.
Year Six spent two days learning about and making moving toys. They had to learn how to make a cam mechanism to enable the toy to move up and down, as well as learning to saw and drill. The finished toys were fantastic! Year Six children said,
The aim of the topic was to construct a wooden frame and use a cam to create the movement. The children thoroughly enjoyed this lesson. Here is a gallery of some of their work.
